FAQ's

Do Volvopod just handle SMART repairs?

SMART is a term used to describe Small to Medium Accident Repair Techniques which describes minor dents and scuffs and maybe paintless dent removal. It is a term associated with mobile repairs where the repairer comes to your door and does the work at your home or workplace.

We prefer to use the term cosmetic repair which indicates work that can be handled in the same day generally 1-8 hours maximum. All work is handled at fixed bodyshop locations with professionally accredited trained staff specialising in cosmetic repair. The types of repair we handle can be viewed on this page.

Why are your repairers fixed locations and not mobile?

Mobile repairs can work but fixed bodyshop repairs are more consistent and are able to offer a better more professional solution in our opinion. Not many people have the space at home for a van and tent and many people are uncomfortable with this type of repair and how long it will last once complete. Volvopod® repairs are guaranteed for life of the ownership of your vehicle.

Is the quote 100% guaranteed or will there be any extras?

All quotes are subject to inspection, what may look like superficial damage can sometimes have an impact to the structural integrity of the vehicle. Bumper damage is generally the worst as often what looks like a slight damage to the surface of the bumper can have had an impact to the crumple zones of the vehicle. If this is the case you will be offered the opportunity to have a full bodyshop damage assessment.

Who are Volvopod?

Volvopod is a specialist cosmetic repair company set up in 2013 by Morelli Group LtdĀ® the largest independent supplier of refinish paint to the professional repairer in the UK.

What is my guarantee for the repair?

All repairs are guaranteed for the life time of the vehicle with the same owner. All our repairs are completed to PAS 125/QAA bodyshop qualification standards.

How long does it take?

Appointments can be made online 24 hours in advance subject to availability at your chosen VolvoPod.

What do I do whilst my car is being repaired?

Customers are welcome to wait onsite in our comfortable reception area and enjoy complimentary coffee and use our free Wifi or leave the vehicle for collection later in the day at a time convenient to the driver.

How do you book repair appointments?

Appointments are booked online at http://www.volvocarssmart.co.uk/ once this has been done and the details have been received , your chosen Volvopod will call you to make sure everything is as quoted. If you have uploaded pictures then this will help to verify that the quotation is as stated online. If there is a third party involved and an authorisation is needed, then images are sent digitally and authorisation is requested before any work will begin.

What happens if I want to cancel my appointment?

Please contact your chosen Volvopod and notify them of your need to cancel, a new appointment can be made at this time if required.

Why not go to my local bodyshop?

Not all bodyshops offer same day cosmetic or SMART repairs and will work to their usual methods of estimating and costs which may lead to a significantly more expensive quotation. However it is your car and we would recommend looking at all options available to you.

Is there damage you do not repair?

Any structural damage would need to be a bodyshop and not a same day repair. Any broken parts would need to be declared and ordered before repair is booked. Any damage to roof panels, bonnets or boot lids again would be subject to inspection before work is undertaken.

What is the complaints procedure?

If for any reason you are not entirely satisfied with the work carried out by your Volvopod please approach them and discuss any issues. If you wish to speak to somebody else regarding your complaint please contact Roger Dunn on 07789 512721 or you can email enquiries@VolvoPod.com for more details visit our Contact Us section.

What Qualifications do your technicians have?

All Volvopod technicians have an ATA Paint certification or QAA certification for each skill sector required for cosmetic repair.

Are your products environmentally friendly?

All our products are within the EPA regulations and the paints are waterborne. Products are used in fully extracted bodyshop environment and all dust is controlled using dust extracting equipment.
